There's no end to Ms Hilton's compassion after her stink in the slammer. After having 'done' climate change with her the heiress is now turning her attention to animal welfare - with a campaign to forbid elephants getting drunk.
Has she gone completely bonkers this measure? Well bizarre as it sounds the problem of alcoholic elephants is actually a real thing and deserves our attention. Elephants hunt for food in rural India and will take whatever humans leave lying around - including moonshine...
Perhaps surprisingly elephants are what you could call 'lightweights' in the alcohol tolerance stakes and this led to tragedy recently when a herd of them went on a drunken rampage through a village last month with six of them bumping into cables and being electrocuted. So Paris has made an appeal to villagers in areas where elephants roam asking them to keep their alcohol safely locked away. You tell 'em. Paris! [Via ]

Anyone doing something positve to improve conditions for animals and/or people is a good thing no matter what their reasons are for doing it and needs to be viewed as such. I feel empathy for the elephants and believe that is where the majority of the cerebrate needs to be.
